Tui Holidays PLC (the owners of Thomson Holidays and First Choice)
is a leading international leisure travel company, operating in
four sectors. It also has a joint venture cruise company and a US
student break business.
With four different recruitment management
systems operational across the business, there was a lack of
consistency in systems, an inability to post live vacancies, and no
online ‘search and apply’ function. Tui recognised a single,
enhanced system would better meet its collective recruitment
needs.
Tui selected StepStone’s i-GRasp product
suite, the leading European e-recruitment solution, as its solution
of choice. The six-week implementation was managed in parallel with
a change management programme, geared towards re-engineering the
recruitment processes.
Tui approached AMS to work alongside the
i-GRasp team in a two-part national roll-out programme.
Phase 1:
ensure the new product was delivered and rolled out
Phase
2: technology uptake across the business.
AMS worked with Tui and StepStone’s i-Grasp
team for two months to scope change management process and
recommend best practice implementation.
The new system went live in mid-2005 on time,
within budget and with maximum efficiency. It brought huge benefits
for both candidates and employer alike: candidates experience an
interactive and immediate recruitment process, can search for a
position online, submit an application and track the process of
this application.
Internally, the new system means vacancies
could be posted centrally and then seen consistently across all
brands. Recruitment data is centralised; jobs go to market far more
rapidly, and best candidates for the role are captured earlier.
AMS and StepStone team went on to launch the
second phase of the project; working with the internal audience to
ensure widespread adoption and usage. This has increased the
visibility of internal opportunities, important for a remote
workforce.
The team worked to educate and train hiring
managers on the new system and present the benefits of the enhanced
candidate / employer experience, achieved through a dedicated
steering committee, a series of workshops and other
initiatives.
