Our solutions evolve over time. This could be as simple as adding employer branding activity to an RPO solution, or supporting business expansion into new markets by running regional hiring programmes. More often, clients look to outsource the entirety of their resourcing and talent functions to AMS having first engaged us for a particular project.
In its simplest form, Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) means using an external provider to operate an organisation’s recruitment function.
While this sounds similar to what a recruitment agency or search provider would do, there’s a critical difference: RPO involves the design, operation and transition of the entire recruitment process, with the provider acting in partnership with the client to make the entire recruitment process better, rather than simply finding candidates.
AMS has been delivering high-value resourcing solutions for a decade and a half, gaining recognition as the world leader in outsourced recruitment services. Our solutions involve far more than the recruitment of permanent employees – we have a Contingent Workforce Management function which delivers MSP solutions.
In good times as well as bad, senior hires have a fundamental impact on the performance on a business. Get it right, and the business will flourish. Get it wrong, and decades of hard work can be undone. But whilst you think about today, you need to be prepared for tomorrow, which is why ensuring you have a plan to bring in emerging talent to your business is also critical.
At AMS, we know that these specialist hiring categories require a specialist approach. That’s why we have teams of experts dedicated to providing outsourced and consulting solutions for Graduate and Executive populations.
It’s a popular perception that outsourced recruitment is something that only global companies can benefit from. We disagree.
The same basic principles that underpin global RPO solutions can also be applied to small and medium sized enterprises – after all, the challenges faced are very similar. Organisations of all sizes still face the challenges of skills shortages, still look for ways to minimise costs, and still want to hire the best available talent.
Build, Operate, Transfer bundles all the benefits of an outsourced service together with expert consultancy services, all delivered on a pre-agreed timescale. The outcome: an optimised, enhanced resourcing and talent function.
First there was the recruiter’s black-book and print media. Then came the online job-board to transform access to active candidates. Today, social media provides access to both passive prospects and active candidates.
It is essential to carefully plan and utilise existing resources in the most effective manner - after all, there is little point in building recruitment capacity where such capacity already exists.
Our Resource Management consultants provide workforce planning assistance in three key areas.
Experience tells us that the essence of effective talent management is to create a dynamic pipeline of people - of the right quality and at the right cost - for appropriate roles that enable your organisation to deliver its goals.

Regardless of the economic climate, organisations constantly monitor costs, strategies and organisational structures. They do so to improve business performance and, if necessary, to resize and reorganise.
Such change projects are highly complex, involve significant legislative risk, can reflect poorly on employer brands and damage morale, especially if not managed in an effective manner or not executed in a timely manner.
Having survived the ravages of the global financial crisis relatively unscathed, technology providers now look to capitalise on re-growth and expand in an open and buoyant market. However, the technology sector continues to undergo constant evolution which means that more than ever employers are fighting a near-constant battle for qualified talent.
Widely regarded as one of the most intricate industries to recruit in, the healthcare and life sciences sector combines leading-edge research and innovation with a massive sales and distribution apparatus. Despite being considered recession-proof, the sector now faces new challenges with governments reducing health spending across the world, shorter patent periods and the inevitable appetite for enhanced or new products.
A broad and varied sector, resources, energy and utilities encompasses such industries as mining, energy production and supply, and the services distribution. It’s a massive section of the global economy, encompassing primary industries whilst also providing the infrastructure upon which manufacturing and other industries rely.
As the largest employers in the world, governments occupy a unique position in the resourcing and talent landscape. The incredible array of roles and functions, the scale of requirements, and the necessity of resourcing in diverse regions all contribute to a very challenging environment for government recruiters.
The influence of the investment sector reaches far beyond immediate money markets and finance to every facet of daily life for people across the planet. Finance underpins every business endeavour and provides the landscape in which business can exist and function freely – it plays the most critical part in the success of new businesses, in economic growth, and prosperity.
Over the last three decades, the service industry has become a critical component of every established economy, and encompasses a broad spread of disciplines from accountancy to law to outsourced recruitment.
Our Financial and Consulting Services practise delivers real results to financial services organisations and consultancies alike, providing tailored services that match the requirements of this diverse sector.
Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and the retail sector are the visible front of consumerism in developed and developing economies. The appetite of consumers for products and services drives the economy, and it’s from this sector that the cues of the wider economic picture are drawn.

Easily the most diverse and specialised industry in the world, engineering consists of a close-knit, highly skilled, tightly-networked society of experts. Technology enablement and advancement has seen notable change in the sector – technology is both a tool and a component of successful engineering – and despite a moderate impact from the global financial crisis, the industry continues to expand and grow.

42 words on our approach

We test out thinking in focus groups, use technology to change messages mid-campaign, benchmark against competitors through online surveys, and measure response from good old print advertising.
Over 70 applications from one advert
Our press advert for a huge global organisation was designed to find two of the finest minds in the world of defence and global politics. The creative had to make a big impact, but at the same time not attract inappropriate applicants. The advert ran in ‘Jane’s Defence Weekly,’ and significantly helped increase the portfolio of a new area within the organisation.
The campaign was very well received by people within the business, who felt it relayed exactly the message they were looking for. And despite the highly-targeted audience, it helped generate over 70 applications: 42 for Director of Global Thought Network and 29 for Director of Operational Analysis. A strong response given the very niche roles and the client was extremely satisfied with the result.
