As part of our commitment to being a globally responsible
organisation, in 2007 we signed up as a participant to the UN
Global Compact.
The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for
businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and
strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of
human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. This helps
businesses ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance
move forward in a way that benefits economies and societies
everywhere in the world (www.unglobalcompact.org).
As part of our involvement in the initiative, we have committed
to communicating on the progress of our Global Citizenship
programme. Every year we produce a report that helps to increase
awareness of our programme, provide a measurement of progress and
make commitments for the future. This approach provides
transparency and accountability, and helps to ensure that undergo
continuous improvement at all times.
