Are you ready for social recruiting?
The value of social recruiting is pretty clear – access to, and dialogue with, a more diverse set of potential candidates, increasing the probability of hiring better quality, doing this quicker and at a reduced cost.
So let’s jump straight in and do quick inventory check.

Wrong. Social recruiting is not about tools. Tools can make us more productive but they aren’t the starting point. Let’s explore your social recruiting strategy:
Social.
Social implies a two-way exchange. It is not just broadcasting (or socialising) your job postings. What can we learn, together – prospect, candidate and recruiter. How do we create relationships of value? How do we make personal connections?
Recruiting.
Nothing has changed …(authentic) relationships remain critical to recruitment. Tools make us more productive, but they are not a strategy. Are your recruiters involved in the internal culture discussion? Are they captains of your culture? Do they understand your corporate brand values and brand insights from the (internal and external) communities they face?
One thing is for sure. If you deploy social recruiting today on yesterday’s recruiting infrastructure it’s likely not going to work. Anyone can invest in tools today but this doesn’t make you ready for social recruiting.
Help is at hand, though. From strategy, through planning actions, to the role of the Community Manager – AMS’s Sourcing Innovation Summit in London in March 2012 brings together many thought leaders – corporate recruitment leaders and market leading vendors – to explore how to create and execute a world-class social recruiting strategy, and measure its success.
