Background
One of our most successful client relationships has been with an organisation who is a recognised leader in the professional services market and has a truly global presence
Historically, the organisation used recruitment agencies and other third-party suppliers to provide talent. With offices spread throughout the United Kingdom and a partner-based structure, there was a lack of transparency and visibility of recruitment across the organisation. The ongoing usage of recruitment agencies was driving up cost-per-hire to unacceptable levels.
The Challenge
The organisation recognised that to move forward, they would need to invest heavily in their people. They chose to re-examine recruitment processes, and after an extensive review, elected to outsource the recruitment function. Following a rigorous selection process, AMS was appointed as a strategic recruitment partner.
The Solution
Upon engagement, AMS worked across all key stakeholders in the organisation to understand their business requirements and to identify how best to build and grow a world-class recruitment solution. After implementation and go-live, the solution numbered some 35 people, and accommodated all experienced hiring in the UK (excluding Rep. of Ireland). The solution covers the recruitment process end-to-end, from job requisition to verbal offer. Reference checking and onboarding services are provided by third parties.
The four central foundations for this world-class recruitment solution are consistency, reliability, dependability and effectiveness. The relationship between the two organisations is a partnership, with the recruitment team acting as trusted advisors who are aligned to each business units, and nurture a relationship with the stakeholders in each.
Additional services, including third party supplier management, resourcing communications, graduate recruitment, and business intelligence are also considered in-scope. During renewal of the three-year contract with AMS, the organisation opted for a unique approach to recruitment: ‘nothing is out-of-scope’. This allows the two companies to act as true partners.
The Results
The relationship has been a successful one, generating savings in excess of £1m, a time to hire reduction of 35%, and the development of a world-class recruitment solution. This is reflected in an extension of the contract to 2012.
