AMS Wins Prestigious Charity Award

Tomorrow’s People Corporate Partner of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) has been named 2010 Corporate Partner of the Year for our innovative support and ongoing commitment to UK’s employment charity Tomorrow’s People.

Since 1984, the charity has helped change the lives of more than 440,000 people across the UK who had been resigned to long-term, even life-long, unemployment. AMS has been strategically working with the organisation since 2005 as our Charity of Choice, providing a great range of support including AMS hosting employability skills workshops across the country; providing Tomorrow’s People clients with valuable work experience placements; furnishing the charity with central London office space at no cost; and helping develop staff with training days.

As Baroness Stedman-Scott, CEO, Tomorrow’s People, commented, “All of our successes are achieved with the support of others. Working with organisations like AMS who share our mission, we create greater impact with individuals and help more people to move forward positively in their lives. This award recognises the extraordinary efforts of AMS, who has gone the extra mile with us.”

Ruth Smyth, Global Head of HR, was delighted to collect the award on behalf of everyone at AMS at a ceremony in Central London earlier this month, attended by the charity’s Royal Patron, HRH The Countess of Wessex. Ruth says, “Winning this award is a huge achievement and could not have been won without the commitment both AMS and Tomorrow’s People have shown in the past year in extending our working relationship. Our people have been especially proactive in volunteering, owning and developing the local expertise they provide Tomorrow’s People – their passion in engaging the charity’s clients with their own innovative ways of support is truly inspiring.”

About Tomorrow’s People

Tomorrow’s People is a specialist national employment charity which since 1984 has helped over 440,000 long-term unemployed people on their journey back to work. The charity helps break the cycle of unemployment and welfare dependency so that people can move into employment and self-sufficiency, improving their lives and those of their families and communities. Up until the recent economic down-turn 90% of the people we helped to find work were still there after three months, and 76% were still employed after a year.
